Leagues, elo and season pass
How elo actually moves, the 9 leagues and the 14-day reset, the 50 season pass tiers, and what all 10 chests pay out.
The league road
- League measures your level: elo, reset every 14 days
- Season pass measures your volume: xp, 30 days
- Mixing them up is the most common mistake

Two counters run at once in Kickdom, and they keep different time. Your league measures how good you are, over 14 days. Your season pass measures how much you play, over 30 days. Mixing them up is the most common mistake in the game.
| System | Advances on | Season length |
|---|---|---|
| League | ranked elo, from ranked matches | 14 days |
| Season pass | xp | 30 days |
The 9 leagues
Lowest to highest: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master, Champion, Legendary, Mythic.
Every league splits into divisions. Climbing a division or a whole league pays out: gold, chests, players.
Your placement rests on one number, your ranked elo. It only moves in ranked matches. You also need a minimum count of ranked matches to appear on the ladder at all. Below that line you are playing, but you are not ranked.
At the end of the 14 days the standings pay out, then reset to zero. Everyone starts over. That is what makes a strong season worth repeating and a rough one worth forgetting.
Elo, properly explained
This is the least understood system in the game. Here is exactly what it does.
The maths is asymmetric, and this is not a zero-sum system. The points you gain are not the points your opponent loses. Three practical consequences.
- The winner always banks at least a little elo. Even against someone far below them, a win pays.
- The loser's drop is softened, cushioned by roughly 25%. A defeat costs you less than the matching win would have paid.
- A draw still moves elo. The favourite hands a slice to the underdog, with a small extra swing when the skill gap is wide. So a draw scraped against a stronger opponent is a good result on the ladder, not a wasted match.
Hidden elo and ranked elo
Two ratings live side by side, and they do different jobs.
| Rating | Updated | Job |
|---|---|---|
| hidden elo | every match | find you an opponent your size |
| ranked elo | ranked matches only | set your league |
Hidden elo works quietly in the background: it decides who you face. Ranked elo is your season scoreline.
The season pass: 50 tiers in 30 days
The season pass advances on xp and holds 50 tiers. Each step asks for more: 0 xp at tier 1, then 25, 50, 75, 100, and onward to 5,740 xp at tier 50.
Every tier you reach unlocks a reward on the free track. A second one waits on the premium track if you have switched it on. Expect Standard, Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum chests, 10 magic balls, 500 gold, runes, 10 tickets, players. The higher you climb, the more serious the chests get.
The premium track opens with the Golden Pass. While it is active you unlock the whole Golden Rewards line, you get the special Golden Pass quests, you pull in more chests, magic balls and rare rewards, and you enjoy faster progression all season long. It stays live until the current season ends.
Be clear on what that buys and what it does not. A pass speeds up your season pass and strips out the ads. It leaves your players' stats untouched, changes nothing across the 3 minutes of a match, and never moves your elo. Every price sits in the economy guide.
Where xp comes from
Matches first: every match played pays.
| Result | gold | xp |
|---|---|---|
| Win | 50 | 100 |
| Draw | 10 | 40 |
| Loss | 10 | 40 |
Quests next, listed just below. Then the daily reward, worth 5 xp on top of its gold when you claim it.
Quests
Three quests run at a time, no more.
| Scope | Typical goal | Reward |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | Play 5 matches | 50 gold + 100 xp |
| Weekly | Play 30 matches | 100 gold + 200 xp |
| Season | Play 50 to 100 matches | 250 gold + 500 xp |
| One-time | Follow the socials (X, Discord, Twitch) | 100 gold |
A quest that does not suit you can be rerolled. You get 1 free reroll per day. Any extra one costs 50 gold.
The daily reward, across 30 days
Logging in pays, and the streak matters. The ladder runs 30 days, then loops.
| Day | 1 | 7 | 14 | 21 | 30 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | 20 | 35 | 69 | 134 | 317 |
Day 30 hands you 317 gold against 20 on day 1. The curve is gentle early and steepens sharply past day 15, which is where the real value of showing up every day sits.
The 10 chests
Ten chests, modest to lavish. All of them carry players and items. Gold, magic balls and tickets scale with the tier.
| Chest | Gold | Magic balls | Players | Items | Tickets |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 50 | 10 | yes | yes | 0 |
| Bronze | 100 | 20 | yes | yes | 0 |
| Silver | 200 | 40 | yes | yes | 0 |
| Gold | 400 | 80 | yes | yes | 3 |
| Platinum | 600 | 120 | yes | yes | 5 |
| Diamond | 1,000 | 200 | yes | yes | 5 |
| Master | 1,500 | 300 | yes | yes | 8 |
| Champion | 2,000 | 400 | yes | yes | 10 |
| Legendary | 3,000 | 600 | yes | yes | 15 |
| Mythic | 5,000 | 1,000 | yes | yes | 20 |
Chest contents evolve. They are reviewed and adjusted every month as the game updates: what you read here explains how chests scale relative to one another, not the exact drop of the day.
Tickets only appear from the Gold chest upward. That is the real break in the ladder: past that point a chest stops handing you resources and starts handing you playtime. The Mythic chest pays 5,000 gold and 20 tickets, where the Standard stops at 50 gold.
Chests arrive mostly through season pass tiers, league payouts and the shop.
What to take away
- Your league rides on ranked elo, so on ranked matches alone, on a 14-day cycle.
- Your season pass rides on xp, so on how much you play, on a 30-day cycle.
- A draw is never neutral. It shifts elo.
- A loss sets you back less than a win pushes you forward. Play ranked.
And ranked itself is won on skill. No shop line sells a league placement.
