Getting started: your first hours in Kickdom

What to do first, what never to waste, and the rhythm to settle into: squad, tickets, laboratory, quests and your first league.

The essentials
  • Two visits a day, tickets cap at 5
  • A research must always be running in the laboratory
  • A fresh duplicate gets fused, not recycled

Kickdom takes one match to pick up: 3 minutes, no halftime, and you get the idea. So this is not a tutorial. It is the short list of habits that save you days, and the traps that cost them.

Your first squad

A squad is 5 players, plus up to 5 items, at most 1 item per player. Early on, keep it simple: field your 5 best overall ratings, the single number that sums up a player's 6 stats. Fine-tuning by profile can wait until your collection allows it. It is covered in the players guide.

Items are optional and you will have few at first. Equip what you have, nothing is wasted: items wear down but can be repaired.

Tickets set your rhythm

Every match costs 1 ticket. You regenerate 1 free ticket every 45 minutes, with a cap of 5. Once you sit at 5, regeneration stops: nothing stockpiles.

The right rhythm follows on its own: two short visits a day beat one visit every three days with the same stock. A rewarded ad can also hand you a ticket back, always within the cap. The full detail is in the economy guide.

Your squad wears down, and that is normal

Every player carries a match counter, its maxGames. It drops by 1 per match played, for each of the 5 players fielded. At zero, the player is spent.

Two consequences for your first days:

  1. Your commons will burn out fast. A few dozen matches each. That is not a mistake on your part, it is the game's cycle: the laboratory's production replaces them.
  2. A fresh duplicate is not for recycling. 2 players of the same rarity fuse into 1 rune of the rarity above: the game's only rarity ladder, and the first step toward a mythic. Recycling is for spent players.

The laboratory must never sleep

Your laboratory produces your new players and items. Your stadium produces gold continuously, even while you are away. The habit to build from session one: every time you open the game, a research should be running. A finished research left waiting is production lost.

Your first days of gold go there: upgrading laboratory and stadium, alternating, in the order the game points to. The full logic of both structures is in the laboratory guide.

Quests and the daily reward

Three quests run at a time, and a quest that does not suit you can be rerolled: 1 free reroll per day, 50 gold each after that. Add the daily reward, which pays gold plus 5 xp when you claim it.

Worth knowing too: match gold is capped at 500 per day, about ten wins. Once the counter is full, your matches keep paying in elo, xp and quest progress.

Your first league

Ranked moves your elo, and elo places you in one of the 9 leagues, which reset every 2 weeks. Jump in without overthinking: elo measures your level and will put you where you belong either way. One tip: keep an eye on your best players' counters before chaining matches. The full system is in the leagues guide.

What never to waste

Your magic balls. They fuel fusion, and the road to mythic will ask for plenty. They come mostly from recycling spent players: let them pile up.

Your gems. The game's rare currency. Nothing forces you to spend them fast: keep them for what actually matters to you, a chest you are aiming at or an offer you genuinely want.

The counters of your rare players. An early epic or legendary is a stroke of luck. Every match consumes it: choose when to field it.

What comes next

You have the rhythm: two visits a day, a research always running, quests moving. The logical next step is understanding what your players are really worth, and that is the next chapter.

Production values, adjustable by the team.

Quests: three running, one free reroll per day.
